5 Ways to Celebrate Your Company Award

Celebrating success as a team is important when it comes to boosting spirit and morale. Taking the time to pause and commemorate wins, both big and small, can lead to improved collaboration and performance.

Winning a company award is a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication that employees put into their roles every day. Recognizing the win allows employees to take part in the company’s success and take pride in the workplace they have built with their team. Below, we’ve compiled a list of five ideas to help inspire your next workplace award celebration.

Host a Social Gathering to Commemorate the Win

Whether you’re able to gather in person or prefer to host a virtual celebration, getting the entire team together is a great way to recognize a company award. Coming together to celebrate a shared achievement reinforces your workplace culture and allows employees to reflect on the win and bond with their teammates.

You can host a happy hour event or even throw an office party where employees can play games and win fun prizes or company swag as a way to increase camaraderie.

Gift Your Employees for Their Hard Work

Everybody appreciates a bit of recognition for a job well done. Celebrate your employees and the company’s win by ordering a cake, cupcakes, or other sweets to treat your employees at the office, or send a token of gratitude to their home.

You can also provide a small bonus, or give your employees the gift of time with an extra day of PTO to allow them time to relax, reset and reflect on the company’s accomplishments. Closing early on the day of the announcement is a great way to say thank you to your team and encourage celebration.

Decorate Your Workspace

Decorating the office is a great way to celebrate and keep the award win at the top of everyone’s mind. Celebratory banners and balloons displayed across the office will serve as a constant reminder to motivate employees to do their best work.

Employees can write why they think the company is a great place to work on the banners or submit their thoughts and a small note of appreciation to teammates to be sent out in a company-wide newsletter.

Start with Leadership

Company spirit starts from the top, and encouraging your CEO and other top company executives to celebrate the win will go far in increasing employee engagement and cultivating a positive work environment.

Consider sending out a newsletter or video from company leaders announcing the award win, explaining what it means for the company, and outlining company achievements and milestones. Don’t forget to thank your hard-working employees, too, for helping make the company a great place to work.

Express Gratitude

Taking the time to make employees and coworkers feel great is a small act that can make a big impact. Consider sending a simple note of gratitude and appreciation to team members making note of their efforts and how their contributions add to the team.

Celebrating an award win doesn’t need to be extravagant to be effective, and small tokens of appreciation can go a long way in creating a positive workplace culture and boosting team morale.
