Influencer Marketing

As social media continues to grow by leaps and bounds, popular networks such as Instagram and Twitter have become some of the most crowded corners of the internet. With so much happening so quickly on social media networks, is it even possible for brands to stand out and get noticed? Yes! In today’s digital world, influencer marketing has become increasingly popular when it comes to making noise about your brand online. As the use of social media grows more and more everyday it’s important to ensure that your audience stays engaged with your brand, which is why influencer marketing has become crucial to media relations success.

First, let’s dive into what influencer marketing is. Influencer marketing is a type of social media marketing which involves endorsements or product placements from influencers. Influencers can be defined as a person or organization that has gained a large following or social influence and are experts in their niche such as food, fashion, fitness, travel, etc. Media relations is key in the field of marketing because without it, there would be no way in getting your message out. Now, why should influencer marketing be adapted into media relations? Influencers have gained their audience’s trust and respect over time, so their followers are more likely to be influenced by what they are sharing on social media than by traditional digital advertising. In 2019, 72% of brands made room in their budget for influencer marketing because as surveys have shown, nearly one-fifth of American consumers have purchased something via the recommendation of an influencer. For marketers, nurturing  relationships with influencers is ideal for creating a buzz about your brand. Their influence can lead to even greater connections with other media and influencers in their specific field of expertise.

Aside from creating a buzz, influencer marketing is valuable in improving audience engagement and increasing social media presence. With influencers taking over various social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and many more, their presence will aid your brand in gaining reach on social media. When you collaborate with the right influencer, your audience will gain respect and trust for them which leads them to trusting you. Trust comes with your audience being able to drown out all the other noise online and focus on you, because they know that what you’re saying is important and relevant.
